Name What I’m Feeling

Sometimes you know that something feels off before you have the words to explain it. Naming what you’re feeling can help you better understand your experience, recognize what may be affecting you, and decide what kind of support you need. Start by slowing down and noticing what is present without judging yourself for it.

A Place to Begin

Pause & Notice

Take a moment and ask yourself:

What happened before I noticed this feeling?

What sensations am I noticing in my body?

What word comes closest to describing what I feel?

What might this feeling be connected to?

What do I need right now: space, rest, information, reassurance, connection, or action?

You do not need to find the perfect word or resolve the feeling immediately. Begin with the description that feels closest and remain curious about what you are experiencing.
